I don't know why I gave this review that title. You don't really shoot them out your arms but whatever the spaceships use to shoot proton bombs. Now on to the review.
This game is the proton bomb! I can't think of anything bad really except for the difficulty. I guess it depends on what kind of games you like. The presentation of the game is entertaining in itself. There are clips of the first trilogy in the background and when you lick I mean click on the item it has a cool R2D2 kind of blip. Why do those sounds sound so cool anyway whenever they are in a Star Wars product? I swear I've heard them before like on a microwave or cell phone but when they are in Star Wars it's like, "Cool"! Which brings me to the sound. Damn! When I first started playing I had the sound down 'cause I was listening to my room mate having sex but after he was done I turned the stereo up high and it blew my mind. I felt like the action was happening all around me. You can hear the enemies' blasts flying by you. Explosions shake the room. One of the coolest sounds is when either a Tie Fighter flies past you or when you shoot it down and it twirls around with this whir! whir! whir! sound. Cool!
The graphics are about as good even though every once in awhile it seems like things slow down a little bit. The textures are nice. The lighting effects are tight. If you look at me when I play all you see is my face lighting up with oranges and purples, and greens and blues. The game engine also seems to be able to keep up with a whole lot of stuff happening at the same time. In the latter levels you will never feel safe because of all that is going on around you.
This game gets hard quick especially if you want to get a medal. To get a gold on one level they don't want you to use the targeting computer. The problem is the Tie Fighters are the same color as the background. How the hell am I supposed to see them! And worse yet is the next level which is open space and ships can fly anywhere. I might never be able to get a gold on this level!
The missions are exciting. Before you begin you'll be briefed on the basics of the mission. When the mission starts, however, it will branch off so you never know what you'll actually be doing throughout the mission.
If you have a Gamecube get the game. If you don't have a Gamecube get one and the game. Peace!
