Madden's rein on football video-games continues

I have had all of the Madden football games through the eras of nintendo systems...starting with Madden 94' for SNES-the football game I played for hours with my cousin running crazy plays gaining about 500 rushing yards every play by running back and forth on the field. Then came Madden 64 on the ol' N64- Another game I played til 5 in the morning with my cousin. It was too easy and it got quite choppy but it still was fun (note: the total points your able to score in madden 64 is 255!..yes...yes i know..I am quite lame.) And now the greatest of all the Madden's...Madden 2002 for Gamcube!

Graphics

Pros:
One of the current best graphics-game for Gamecube. The player models feature more than 1000 polygons to make up there smooth skin and crystal eyes. Even the coaches on the sidelines look nice...not to mention those sexy sexy cheerleaders...wink wink. Anyway the graphics are amazing, slightly better than PS2's and just under XBoxes. The field and the players helmets show damage over the period of the game. It's just all these little things and big things (refer to:cheerleaders..wink wink) that make up these nice graphics.
Cons:
there is slowdown...not much that would affect the gameplay but during the replays and when the players are running to the line of scrimmage.

Sound/Music

Pros:
The hard hitting sounds of players crashing into eachother is right on...and maddens half retardish half old mans voice makes the game crazyier and oddly more fun. Pat and John sound more fluid than ever to make the game seem more realisic.
Cons:
I HATE rap. So naturally when the theme song was being played during the opening movie I had a look of disgust. Even if you like rap...you will be offended by this poorly crafted rap "song". It just doesnt put you in the football mood.

Replay Value

Pro:
You got friends?(hopefully you answered yes)good,you and your buddys will be clashing helmets for hours on end. Weither playing cooperatively on the same team or against eachother this disk won't stop spinin'.

Con:
1 is the loneliest number...especially when its assosiated with Madden... The single-player is not bad it just seems the computer gets more predictible and the season mode will get old. But there are Madden Cards and such to open.


Overall:
I am not a BIG time football fan but when I started playng Madden Games it certainly helped me enjoy the sport. Madden 2002 will not dissapoint...that is a GreendayDM promise, even if your not a football fan pick up this AMAZINGLY detailed, delightful, and beutifully crafted game. Get 3 controllers 3 friends and BUY this game but make sure its a weekend, you'll be up for a loooong time.
