Cheap 2-line cordless phone
Pros
Supports 2 phone lines, digital; inexpensive
Cons
Questionable reliability
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Low price for 2-line capability.
The Uniden EXI 2926 900Mhz Cordless Phone offers cheap 2-line capability. Uses digital (not analog) carrier signal and has acceptable clarity at 100 feet. The Caller ID includes the caller's name. The unit has a 50 number directory. Numbers in the Caller ID history can be copied to the directory without re-keying. Unit includes speaker-phone.
The base unit has two RJ-11 jacks. One jack doubles as an RJ-14 jack (two lines on a single jack).
Construction is low-density cheap plastic. One of the 3 units I purchased was not functional and had to be returned. Uses a standard 3-pack NiCAD battery.
One weird feature of this phone is that when a call is placed on another phone on the same line, the Uniden refuses to go off hook until the other phone hangs up. Presumably so you don't interrupt the other caller?
