People Weekly is a magazine which offers a myriad of articles about real people and the high profile persons that we enjoy to know a little more about.
I have found that the articles are very well written and avoid the ?trashy? side of the topic. Almost each story is filled with outstanding photos that depict either the subject or a related item. This magazine is a very easy read filled with two to three page articles with an average size of about two hundred pages in total. As you may expect, these two hundred pages contain an average of seventy-five pages of advertising.
The magazine begins with photos and comments of our favorite stars in various settings. Each of these photos are natural settings and very rarely appear to be set up. After turning a few pages, you can find out some interesting facts in the ?Pop Quiz? section, which poses some questions and answers about someone famous. A couple more pages, and you find some real estate that is for sale, and for a couple of million dollars you can own the home of ?.well each week it is different.
Each week I direct my attention to the ?Online? Section, which usually offers a new obscure web site that you can visit. Next, reviews of this weeks new Television Shows, Big Screen Openings, Songs, and Books. Each of these reviews are well written and close with an overall rating.
An average weekly magazine contains articles that range from Animals to the Death of someone we all know. Those of you die-hard gamers also can find a weekly crossword puzzle to complete, including the answers to the previous weeks puzzle.
The last page is one of my favorites, and in less than one hundred words each, I get updated on at least six current events from the entertainment world. This section also includes a quote of the week, which at times are entertaining.
The advertising in this magazine ranges from Automobiles to Food/Drink products. In recent months I have began to notice a large contention of dot com advertising filling the pages.
Overall, I really enjoy this magazine not to be nosey, but just to know a enough about the current world around me. If this is the kind of information that you find interesting, then I suggest that you either subscribe or pick this little magazine up. A subscription comes to about $17.50 every six months in which you will receive approximately twenty-four magazines, including the special bi-annual magazines.
