Battalion Wars for GameCube

Dark days are rising at the end of the 21st century. What started as a border spat between the Western Frontier and the Tundran Territories has snowballed into a terrifying global conflict&$151;one in which the armies have fought each other to a standstill. As their once-proud forces limp through the seemingly endless war, a despotic madman, Kaiser Vlad, seeks to take advantage of the stalemate and seize control of both nations.

Pros Great gameplay, completely original.
Cons Not what you'd expect from the Advance Wars franchise, poor control scheme.
Recommended it? Yes

Battalions Wars Little Soldiers Fighting Their Hearts Out

Pros third-person strategic gameplay
Cons story cinematic, controls
Recommended it? No

Battalion Wars brings advance wars units to the gamecube. No turn-base gameplay, but third-person action. A nice array of units, but game bogs down with its horrid cinematics and crappy controls. Read full review »
