Wonderful Machine

Pros Extremely thorough manual, user friendly, many extra feet, tons of stitches, attractive, very low maintenance.
Cons Loading a bobbin takes some practice, however, that is the only con that I've found.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  This machine is a work horse. It's powerful and yet it's so easy to use that it would make a perfect machine for a sewer of any experience level.
This was the first sewing machine that I've ever purchased. I bought it because I found a very low price for it on Overstock and nearly all the reviews that I could find of it were very positive.

It is a very attractive machine and that alone intimidated me at first. I was afraid that such a nice looking computerized machine would be too complicated for me.

Finally one day I got brave enough to look at the rather extensive manual that came with my machine. By the end of the day, I'd set it up and started sewing. The manual is wonderful. It covers every single ability of the machine in an easy to read and easy to understand format.

As with all new sewing machines, I highly recommend practicing with the machine before trying an actual project. Within a few hours I was able to do all the following:

-thread the machine (the thread cassette is a superb feature in my opinion, the machine practically threads itself!)
-load a bobbin (this was a little challenging at first, but after a few tries I was loading very smooth bobbins in no time)
-use every available stitch
-adjust stitch width and length
-program stitch combinations for custom stitches
-understand the basics of thread tension and feel comfortable adjusting the machine's tension for different situations
-stitch in a straight line (after practicing by stitching along the lines of some lined notebook paper with the needle unthreaded
-understand the purposes of the included feet and how to use them
-make buttonholes
-many more tasks

Since I bought my machine (only a year and a half ago) I've made one bed quilt, four full outfits, three skirts, one heavily quilted set of armor for a fencer, four pillowcases, and many other things. My machine has not broken down, not even once. Over the past year and a half, I've developed a real love for sewing and I feel that my machine had a huge part in that.
