Beltronics Pro RX55 Radar Detector

This is a fairly decent detector, especially considering the price. It falses for grocery stores...but most detectors do; the City LoX helps a lot in places like that. I usually use Autoscan in town, but at times City LoX is necessary. Where I live though there aren't any sources for falsing, so I keep it on Highway unless I'm going into the city. I think that many of the people that have reviewed this detector don't quite understand how to use it...You can set the volume level and, and change the settings such that the alarms don't sound every time you turn it on. I don't use a phone while driving, but I've been called several times in the car, and just to test it out, made phone calls from the car with the detector on...no falsing from that, I'm not sure what that guy was talking about. Anyway it has proven useful, but if you can afford a V1, buy a V1, if you can afford an RX65, buy and RX65..but as a moderately priced detector, this one is great and can easily pay for itself with just one successful alert. I bought mine (new) on ebay for about 150+shipping: Excellent deal. The only complaint has nothing to do with the performance: Bel doesn't ship detectors with visor clips, and I wanted to hardwire mine into my car, So I had to order the stupid little clip separately: 4.50 + 4 shipping for a visor clip made to fit in the Bel detector.
