Audiovox VBP4000 5.6 in. Portable DVD Player

We had rented a portable VHS player several times through a local rental company, but knew we wanted a DVD player since that seems to be the way the industry is moving. We saw this on sale in the Target flyer with the Eddie Bauer logo name on the case for $288. We had talked about buying one of these for a long time, but higher prices had always been a deterrent. I was packing for yet another road trip for a basketball tournament when my hubby called and said, "Let's stop by Target and buy one on the way out of town." I jumped at the chance.

We bought it an immediately proceeded to the parking lot to hook it up for our two hour car ride with our 14 & 9 year old boys. The unit came enclosed in a carrying case, straps to attach it between the two front seats, a power adapter for the car and a power adapter that can be hooked into an electrical socket. It comes with a tiny, slim remote that had batteries included. The only problem we had (we didn't have time for the directions) was finding the volume control (left side of screen).

We had no problems with this unit. The screen must be adjusted correctly so that the picture is clear. Headphones (two jacks) may be used with the unit. Video game consoles may also be hooked up, but we haven't worked with this feature yet. We didn't have headphones and with the volume turned up the whole way we were all able to hear and enjoy the DVDs.

The padded portable case comes in handy for transporting. There are compartments for the cables inside. The is a foldable triangle that can be used to support the bag and unit upright for use in a hotel or home.
